I know I haven't been posting much here lately. You can find more posts on my Wordpress blog. Also, I've been busy with writing projects from Fiverr, so I've not been doing much work on novels lately. I hope to get back to that soon. So, I'll keep you updated with that when I can. Please keep checking back. And you are more than welcome to visit my AuthorsDen account to get a preview of my work in progress (A Goddess Awakens) and leave your opinion/feedback.

This is a little poem I threw together yesterday. I'm sure all you writers (and other creative people) out there can relate to it :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I almost had it I could feel it there Tickling at my brain Trying to get my attention Trying to grow into something And then came the darkness And the burgeoning thought The idea that had been forming Was lost to Dreamland ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This poem can also be found on my Wordpress blog. Happy Thanksgiving! May you all have a good day sharing with family and friends.
Here is a post on my Wordpress blog with some Thanksgiving funnies you can enjoy. So, on this day of giving thanks, what are you thankful for? I'm thankful that I'm still here. I'm thankful that I'm still writing (when I can). I'm thankful that I've had a couple of people recently post on my Facebook page that they're reading my book, Kismet and Tell, and are enjoying it. It's encouraged me to keep writing and renewed my interest in collecting some of my KaT short stories together for future publication (hopefully I'll do that soon). I'm thankful I met my new boyfriend and for the time we get to spend together. There are a few other things, but I'll keep this short. So how about you? What are you thankful for? Shame on me for not updating here sooner. But then again, there really hasn't been much to update. Things have just been really busy on the homefront lately, and my writing time has kind of taken a hit. I hope to fix that soon and get back to working on my book asap. I also have been kind of busy on my Wordpress blog, too. So you can always keep track of me there. I've just started a sort-of mystery/detective short story on the Wordpress blog, too. Check it out if you like. It's under the Writing category. Just posted the 3rd part of it the other day, and in it you can find links to the first 2 parts. Well, I guess that's it for now. As I said, not much to update at the moment. Hopefully I'll have something more to share later.
Well, I've been working off and on on this chapter, trying to get it finished. Setting the daily word count goal seems to have helped some, though I did slip a few times, and only get about half the goal met a couple times and a couple days I just couldn't get anything written. Today I worked on it for a couple hours or so, and got about 1200 words done, and finished the chapter. You can find Chapter 14 of A Goddess Awakens on my AuthorsDen page, here. Previous chapters are also on there. Feedback is much appreciated.
Wishing a happy and safe Independence Day to all :) What a day it's been, with Hurricane Arthur brushing by overnight and this morning. Thankfully it wasn't bad and we only got hit with the edge of it. We've definitely been through worse tropical storms and hurricanes. This wasn't much more than just a moderately bad normal storm, with only an inch or two of rain and wind gusts up to around 50 mph.
In other news, the other day I started trying to keep a daily word count goal so I can try to get more of my book completed. I set it at 300 words. Hopefully I can keep to it, and get more than that done once in a while. I figure 300 words I can get done easily after work in the afternoons, and get at least that much if not more done on weekends. I've been doing pretty good with it so far this week. Wish me luck that I can keep at it. I just created a new blog page on Wordpress. You can follow this new companion blog here. I will continue to post here as well, so keep following this blog, too, please.
Felt like sharing a little poem I wrote a few years ago.
Panther Black as Night It hides in the shadows, Bright golden orbs Watching the movements Of the unsuspecting before it; Then, suddenly, it strikes, And Death claims yet another victim As the Panther snatches its Prey. You can find more poems and some short stories, as well as few chapters of the book I'm currently working on, on my AuthorsDen site. I've just started back working on the book now that the short story I was asked for is done. I don't have much done right now, but it's a start and getting me thinking about it again. Hoping to have the current chapter finished soon. Felt I should share this link to a really good article an author friend of mine, K.S. Brooks, wrote about how important reviews are for authors and selling their books:
http://www.indiesunlimited.com/2014/06/03/why-reviews-matter/ So please, if you buy a book, leave a review. Allow me to indulge myself for a moment and share links to a couple of authors I know.
Karen Thompson has a couple of children's books out. One is about a therapy cat and one about three feral kittens. Karen Malena has a three true-life books out, and another book on the way. Please check them out. |
